Companies like Google, Meta, OpenAI, and Toyota are already incorporating foundation models into their robotics applications, while service robot vendors in China are developing their own models. However, the resource-intensive nature of GenAI means that it is mostly deployed in the cloud, while robots prioritize local processing. Non-GPU vendors like Qualcomm, Intel, and AMD have also launched AI systems-on-chip or dedicated AI chipsets for on-device robotics applications.
