Australia is not prepared for the Industry 4.0 revolution, which will bring together robotics, automation, the Internet of Things, 5G, edge computing, AI and other technologies. This revolution will replace many labor-intensive jobs, but also create opportunities for humans to move up the value chain and take on more innovative work. However, Australia is lacking key IT skills and there is a cultural resistance to the transition.
