The European Commission has proposed a new EU regulatory framework on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the European Union. This is the first attempt to implement some level of regulation of AI and is currently in a preliminary proposal state. The initiative has been monitored closely worldwide because it starts from the need to preserve the fundamental rights of individuals and may impact the whole of human society.
