Researchers have found that Stable Diffusion, a powerful lossy image compression codec, can be used to compress images with higher efficiency than JPG and WebP. Tests conducted with images of San Francisco, a candy shop, and Anna showed that Stable Diffusion was able to compress the images to a smaller size than either of the other two formats.
