UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced a 10-point plan to invest £250 million in artificial intelligence and other “transformational technologies”. The plan focuses on AI, quantum computers, gene editing and engineering biology, and promises to provide up to £50 million to stimulate investment in science from the private sector and philanthropists. Additional funding of £370 million will be allocated to support science start-ups, quantum computing, and research institutes.
