Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech and Spanish technology company GMV have formed a joint venture to win a public tender to build the first quantum computer for public use in southern Europe. The new infrastructure, part of the Quantum Spain initiative, will be installed at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and integrated into the MareNostrum 5 supercomputer. It is financed with Next Generation funds from the European Commission’s Recovery Plan for Europe.
