Localcoho Partners With Tech Start-up Shinkei Systems For Ethical Salmon Harvesting

LocalCoho, a land-based aquaculture company, is the first commercial customer of Shinkei Systems, a technology start-up that uses robotics and machine learning to automate fish harvesting. Shinkei’s mission is to improve fish taste, texture and quality, increase efficiency and reduce waste while LocalCoho is focused on ethical reasons and providing a premium quality product. The machine is taking the harvesting process to a whole new level by automating a traditional Japanese technique known as Ike Jime.
