Automakers such as GM, Ford, Toyota and Mercedes-Benz are increasingly turning to Artificial Intelligence to improve customer service and develop high-profit digital services. GM CEO Mary Barra has expressed her vision of having AI bots as co-pilots in vehicles, which would be able to interact with drivers and provide answers to questions such as why a check-engine light has come on and if they should keep driving until a service station is reached. GM has been talking up its plans to use AI products and services to improve customer experience.
