Researchers have found that Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help deliver earlier and better diagnoses of digestive cancers, however there are many challenges to widespread clinical application. These challenges include limited sharing of medical imaging data between hospitals and lack of standardization of protocols for medical imaging for AI. The paper was published in the journal Health Data Science on February 6. Clinical treatment of digestive system neoplasms (DSNs) has improved in recent decades, but five of the seven deadliest cancers are still the product of these digestive system tumors.
