Carnegie Mellon University has developed a robot, Frida, that can turn short text or image prompts into physical paintings. Frida is able to mimic the iterative nature of making art and is able to work with its failures and alter its goals. The team behind Frida is exploring the intersection of robots and creativity, and will be presenting their research paper in May at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation.
