GANs, or Generative Adversarial Networks are part of a family of generative deep learning architectures, whose goal is to generate synthetic data. This post explains what GANs are, and provides a link to an open source GAN playground, called MP-GAN (Multi Purpose GAN). It also provides an overview of some of the experiments conducted on GAN training, using the playground.
