In an exclusive interview with AIM, Wolfram Research chief Stephen Wolfram discussed the issue of AI safety and how big tech companies have given their version of AI safety but are yet to prove its effectiveness. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet, recently spoke about some of the safety measures Alphabet has in place, such as the ‘Google it’ button in Bard, safety filters, and Perspective API. Pichai also spoke about AI system alignment with human values and the ambiguous nature of AI technology, such as the ‘black box’ aspect. Experts believe that the black box issue can be addressed by using explainable AI.
