Singapore is looking to build up its tech sector in five key areas: virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous vehicles, edge computing and quantum computing. To anticipate demands for tech in these fields, the Ministry of Communications and Information has formed an advisory panel to publish a blueprint later this year. To highlight the progress of digital products made in Singapore, the media was presented with a $10,000 omnidirectional treadmill developed by a local tech start-up. Innovations in gaming are often at the forefront of what technology can offer, as video games require high processing power and the ability to play with others, and these developments pave the way for the technology to be used in other industries.
