Bharti Airtel, an Indian telecommunications operator, has announced a strategic partnership with IntelliSmart, a smart metering and digital solutions provider, to power up to 20 million smart meters in India. Airtel’s IoT offering includes its proprietary platform, Airtel IoT Hub, which will enable the local utility to track and monitor these smart meters with advanced analytics while maintaining high reliability and telco-grade security. This agreement marks the largest deal of its kind in India and will help Airtel significantly expand its presence in different sectors with its IoT solutions.
