This article discusses the challenges posed by multidrug-resistant bacteria (MRB) and the potential use of nanoparticles (NPs) as an alternative to antibiotics in treating MRB infections. The physicochemical features of NPs, particularly carbon dots (CDs), make them effective in eradicating MRB and biofilms while also being biocompatible. CDs have the added advantage of fluorescence characteristics, making them useful for imaging and diagnosis.
