AI algorithms and methodologies enable independent decision-making and task execution, and have been demonstrated to have a greater positive predictive value in detecting arrhythmia from electrocardiograms (ECGs) than cardiologists. AI has the potential to revolutionize patient advocacy by bridging communication gaps between patients and providers, and can be used to triage patients in an emergency department, help with contact tracing during a pandemic, and aid in drug dosage optimization.
