The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released a consultation paper to address the challenges of allocating new phone numbers in the country. With the increasing use of new technologies such as machine-to-machine communication, 5G services, and Internet of Things (IoT), there is a need for a novel plan to ensure sustainable growth of the sector. The paper aims to examine the utilization of numbering resources and implement policies for the allocation of new numbers.
