Inuwa, the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), has emphasized the need for collaboration to unlock Nigeria’s potential in the realm of Internet of Things (IoT) and its revolutionary impact on the country’s digital ecosystem. He noted some challenges that need unlocking in order to access the potentials of IoT, such as infrastructure, cyber security, and data protection. Inuwa also highlighted the potential of IoT to generate between 5.5 to 12.6 trillion US dollars in value across different industries by 2030. He further explained that IoT can be applied to agriculture, with wearable plant sensors being one of the top technologies in 2023, which can help to manage the health of plants and increase food production.
