Tariq Iqbal is an assistant professor of systems engineering and computer science in the University of Virginia’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. His research focuses on how to build a fluid and efficient human/robot team where both human and robot can share the same physical space, materials and environment. He is exploring how to use language sets in robotics and how to utilize large language models in systems. He hopes combining many systems will form the human-robot trust and understanding needed for efficient collaboration.
