The UK is facing a growing fraud problem, fuelled by AI. Cloud computing has enabled organisations to innovate at scale, but it has also lowered the bar for cyber-criminals. Machine Learning (ML) models are being used to outwit technology used by organisations to spot suspicious behaviour. ML models can be used to circumvent fraud mitigation systems, such as those used in retail settings, by trial and error. Even sophisticated ML models can be probed and attacked for weaknesses by malicious AI.
