Samsung has successfully tested its 5G Reduced Capability (RedCap) technology, which aims to reduce energy consumption and expand the IoT ecosystem. The technology offers scaled down 5G connectivity, allowing for smaller form factors, longer battery life, and lower costs for IoT devices. Samsung plans to make RedCap commercially available this year and expects it to be applied to Tier 1 operator networks.
