Researchers from NUS, Soitec, and NXP Semiconductors have developed a new class of silicon systems that can greatly improve the energy efficiency of AI connected devices. This innovation has been demonstrated in FD-SOI technology and has the potential to extend battery life, support intense computational workloads, and reduce power consumption. The technology will be promoted through an industry consortium and was showcased at a recent workshop.
