The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) National Synthesis Center for Emergence in the Molecular and Cellular Sciences (NCEMS) at Penn State is a new center that aims to integrate diverse data sets to answer transformative scientific questions. The center will bring together scientists from different disciplines and utilize computational and data science techniques to analyze over 100 Petabytes of publicly available data. The center will also support community-scale synthesis research and address barriers to progress in the field.
