AI has the potential to enhance the way people work and live. In 2018, NITI Aayog developed a National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, #AI for All, to ensure the safe and responsible use of AI and leverage it for social inclusion and economic growth. The field of AI is vast and its usage depends on the field in which it is applied. One of the tools of governance, the Official Statistical System, is a field where the calling has been there to embrace AI but the handshake is yet to take place. AI can be used to improve data quality and non-response, as well as to assist in the data collection process with the help of a Large Language model-based Chatbot.
