Researchers have proposed a new computational approach, pLMSNOSite, for predicting SNO sites which combines two different learned marginal amino acid sequence representations: per-residue contextual embedding learned on full sequences from a pre-trained protein language model and per-residue supervised word embedding learned on window sequences. Independent testing has shown that pLMSNOSite performs better than other widely available approaches.
