Despite being a pivotal year for global democracies, some artificial intelligence chatbots and voice assistants are still struggling to answer basic questions about elections in the U.S. and abroad, raising concerns about their ability to confuse voters. In multiple tests, Amazon’s Alexa, Microsoft’s Copilot, and Google’s Gemini failed to provide accurate information about the 2020 presidential election. Other assistants, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Apple’s Siri, were able to accurately answer questions about the election.
