The Communications Ministry is developing a chatbot facility in WhatsApp to combat fake news and disinformation. The facility will use AI to address issues in multiple languages and the ministry is also working with Meta Platforms Inc to ensure its effectiveness. The ministry encourages its staff to monitor and rebut inaccurate information on social media until the chatbot is launched.
