Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms Inc., has open sourced his AI model for training chatbots, LLaMA, in an effort to prevent power from being concentrated in a single company. However, this move may also be a strategic move to make life more difficult for competitors and improve Meta’s reputation. Investors should be pleased, but AI developers with humanitarian ideals should think twice about joining Meta.
