A.I. expert Peter Chen discusses the potential of using large-scale, general-purpose machine-learning models to give robots more flexible and capable capabilities. This includes a chatbot interface that can not only discuss items it sees, but also manipulate them. The model, called RFM-1, has been trained with large amounts of text, video, and hardware control and motion data, allowing it to connect language and action.
