A research team from Japan and the United States led by Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) recently evaluated the accuracy and precision of ChatGPT, a sophisticated chatbot driven by artificial intelligence (AI) technology, in diagnosing and recommending medical consultation for five common orthopedic diseases. The team found that ChatGPT’s accuracy and reproducibility of diagnosis varied among the five conditions, and its recommendation to seek medical attention was also inconsistent.
