SK Telecom, one of South Korea’s biggest mobile carriers, has upgraded its chatbot, A. (pronounced “A dot”), and added a feature powered by the Microsoft cloud and the technology behind OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The chatbot has a number of cartoon avatars that users can interact with, and the company has integrated its various services from music streaming to e-commerce into A. The chatbot also has a chatroom function that allows users to have conversations with an AI character. SKT plans to launch A. fully in 2023.
