Apple has recently joined the list of companies that have banned the internal use of ChatGPT, a chatbot introduced by OpenAI. The company has restricted the use of the chatbot due to the potential of it accessing private information about Apple’s trade secrets. Additionally, Apple has also restricted the use of another product, Copilot, an automatic coding tool from GitHub. The tech giant has also notified its employees to use Bard, the company’s own AI chatbot, with extreme caution. Apple is reportedly working on a ChatGPT competitor, however, no indication has been given yet.
