The arrival of the ChatGPT chatbot in late 2022 marked a milestone in artificial intelligence, with scientists experimenting with computer vision and giving machines the ability to read as far back as the 1960s. This article explains some of the frequently used AI buzzwords, such as Machine Learning (ML), Chatbots, Generative AI, and Reinforcement Learning. ML is the process of gradually improving algorithms by exposing them to large amounts of data, while chatbots are tools used to hold conversations with people. Generative AI creates a new work after being trained on vast quantities of pre-existing material, and reinforcement learning is a type of AI in which a computer is programmed to learn from its environment.
