A new study from the University of Toronto found that the artificial intelligence chatbot from OpenAI, ChatGPT, is smart enough to pass a radiology board-style exam, correctly answering 81% of the 150 multiple-choice questions. Despite the chatbot’s high accuracy, the study also detected some concerning inaccuracies. The researchers created the questions in a way that mirrored the style, content and difficulty of the Canadian Royal College and American Board of Radiology exams. The questions were then posed to two different versions of ChatGPT: GPT-3.5 and the newer GPT-4.
