Bill Gates and Google CEO Sundar Pichai have praised AI technology, while Elon Musk, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, and the late Stephen Hawking have warned of its risks. This article looks at some of the successes and failures of AI in recent months, such as ChatGPT, Amazon Alexa helping to solve a murder trial, and the failure of the Microsoft chatbot Tay.
