Researchers from 186 universities tested OpenAI’s AI chatbot ChatGPT on accounting exams and found that while it performed impressively on some questions, it was no match for humans. Students scored an overall average of 76.7%, compared to ChatGPT’s score of 47.4%. ChatGPT did better on true/false and multiple-choice questions, but struggled with higher-order questions and short-answer questions.
