Databricks, a San Francisco-based startup, has released open-source code that companies can use to create their own chatbots. The code is an AI model that is trained on sets of data and can learn from new data to perform a variety of tasks. This release is an alternative to training a large language model with enormous resources and computing power, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT. OpenAI charges businesses for access to its models, while Databricks’ effort comes with caveats.
