Chatbots, like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, are being developed to provide consumer-centered health information. However, they need to be created with a specific purpose in mind and constructed with safety measures to protect their users. An example of this is when the chatbot gave advice to a child under the age of 12 to not receive the Covid-19 immunization in January 2023, and to an elderly person to take it easy to treat his Covid-19 infection, although it was unaware that Paxlovid was the appropriate course of treatment.
