Malaysia is emerging as a data centre powerhouse with three global giants, Microsoft, Google, and Huawei, announcing planned investments in the country’s AI capabilities. Microsoft will be investing US$2.2 billion over the next four years towards advancing cloud and AI technology, while Google announced a US$2 billion investment to develop its first data centre and Google Cloud region in Malaysia. Huawei also announced a partnership with Malaysia to establish a training center for AI and cloud technology.
