Telefónica Tech has been entrusted by EMASESA to supply a smart metering solution for the city of Sevilla, using NB-IoT (Narrowband IoT) communication networks. This technology will connect a total of 77,300 meters and 41,500 hubs over a period of four years, and has already reached more than 100,000 households. This implementation is part of EMASESA’s Digital Transformation Strategic Plan, and will enable remote access to the consumption of the user community every hour, allowing the management company to monitor consumption in practically real time and detect anomalous consumption such as leaks and fraud.
