Despite the immense potential of least developed countries (LDCs) and landlocked developing countries (LLDCs), they face significant bottlenecks when pursuing their developmental aspirations. These constraints, coupled with management issues in public institutions, have resulted in a disheartening trade deficit. Technology, such as digital business transformation, information technology, industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, innovation, big data, machine learning, deep learning and blockchain, can enable the transformation of LDCs and LLDCs. Those who adapt to new technologies have both absolute and competitive advantages, allowing them to leapfrog and achieve an unprecedented rate of progress.
