The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has launched the Department of Informatics and Health Data Science, led by the interim chair Azizi Seixas, PhD. This new venture aims to “reimagine academic medicine, healthcare, and the life sciences” to improve patient care. To achieve this, the university has recruited data scientists, biostatisticians, and computer scientists.
