This article discusses the importance of autonomous vehicles (AV’s) in improving road safety and reducing uncertainties such as crashes and heavy traffic. It focuses on the development of a new lane detection approach, called Lane Detection with Convolutional Attention Mechanism (LD-CAM), which aims to accurately detect lanes on poor roads with curves, broken lanes, and extreme weather conditions. The proposed model, which uses an encoder, an enhanced convolution block attention module, and a decoder, achieved high accuracy and precision on various datasets.
