Tesla is developing plans for a data centre in China to train the algorithm needed for its “Full Self-Driving” system, in a strategic shift by Elon Musk. This move would allow Tesla to make fuller use of data from vehicles in China to develop its artificial intelligence for driving, potentially boosting revenue and profits. However, it is not clear if Tesla will proceed with both options for handling self-driving data from China or if it is developing parallel plans.
