Airbus UpNext, a subsidiary of Airbus, is conducting a three-year research project called Optimate to improve aircraft navigation systems and flight safety. The project will utilize advanced technologies such as automation, computer vision, and machine learning to enhance pilot assistance and develop automatic taxiing capabilities. The project also aims to reduce CO² emissions by using an electric truck as a test bed.
