Beijing South Railway Station has been approved to operate an autonomous taxi test service, allowing for the commercial use of self-driving technology. The demonstration zone will coordinate with companies to advance road tests of autonomous vehicles, with plans to offer robotaxi services on designated routes. Beijing is expanding the scope of demonstration zones for high-level autonomous driving and promoting self-driving services in key transportation hubs. China’s self-driving taxi service is expected to reach 1.3 trillion yuan by 2030.
