A group of scientists from MIT and the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab have developed a groundbreaking AI model, EfficientViT, that has the potential to greatly enhance the high-resolution computer vision functions that are essential for autonomous vehicles. This model is capable of categorizing every pixel in a high-resolution image with linear computational complexity, making autonomous vehicles up to nine times faster in processing high-resolution images. This model could also be used for other high-resolution computer vision tasks such as medical image segmentation.
