John Weisenfeld, a science teacher at Pasco High School, is using artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots to help answer tough questions from students. AI is an umbrella term used for decades to describe any machine-learning technology for completing tasks. Recently, AI websites have been used to generate content such as text and images, prompting discussion about its role in many industries. Schools have been blocking these sites, but some are now reversing their decisions, claiming to embrace the potential of this “game-changing technology”. Weisenfeld believes AI technology has the ability to revolutionize the way educators work and teach, and can help students gain a deeper understanding of concepts.
