AI has been in the works since the 1950s, and has been an accepted part of everyday life for years with applications like virtual assistants and AI-generated videos, photos and audio. However, the emergence of ChatGPT has made the possibility of computers being able to learn from experience and context, perform cognitive functions, solve problems and imitate creativity very real.
