India is transforming towards a digital, diverse, secure and inclusive economy and cloud computing is helping the country in bridging the digital divide. The Digital India Mission has transformed the delivery of government services to millions across the country, and is now entering its next phase to ensure anytime, anywhere access to citizen services. To create a nationwide digital infrastructure, the Government of India will need to build and sustain a robust digital architecture, with cloud infrastructure taking the center stage. This will involve two major categories of services: those directly consumed by citizens, and those consumed by different government departments. Cyber security and data privacy are essential to ensure customer data is safe from breaches, and vulnerabilities in applications or infrastructure must be addressed.
